Afternoon departure from Newark on overnight flight to Israel Monday, January 30 - Rabbinic Judaism in the Galilee Explore the magnificently excavated ancient city of Tzippori, home to Rabbi Judah the Prince; discover ancient beauty and evidence of a community in which Jews and Romans coexisted peacefully. Visit Kibbutz Hanaton and hear about the recent revival Tour the synagogues, courtyards, and art galleries of the mystical city of Tzefat. Hotel check-in and welcome dinner. Tuesday, January 31 - The Life of Jesus in the Galilee
In Nazareth, the birthplace of Jesus, visit the Church of the Annunciation, St. Joseph's Workshop, and Mary's Well. Drive through Cana, where Jesus performed his first miracle; stop at the Wedding Church (time permitting) Proceed to the excavations of the ancient Capernaum Synagogue on the shores of the Sea of Galilee, the focal point of Jesus' ministry. Visit Tabgha, the traditional site of the miracle of fishes and loaves, and the Church of Multiplication with its 4th century mosaic floor. Wednesday, February 1 - Jerusalem of Old
Walk up to the Temple Mount (security permitting) Stop for prayer and reflection at the Kotel (Western Wall) In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the Western Wall's massive foundation stones. Explore the Southern Wall Excavations and learn more about the Jerusalem Temple at the Davidson Center. Take in a rooftop view of the four quarters of Jerusalem's Old City, followed by a four quarters walking tour, including a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Thursday, February 2 - The Desert
A Spiritual Awakening. Retrace the footsteps of Abraham, the Patriarch, as we enter the Negev Desert for a desert experience. Experience the silence of the desert and contemplate this environment as the crucible of monotheistic religion. At Tel Sheva, the best example of what we imagine a Biblical well to be, review biblical scenes that took place at wells. Friday, February 3 - The Mount of Olives
