Wednesday, 29 June - USA Departure
Thursday, 30 June - "When You Come Into the Land" (Dev. 26:1)
Arrival in Israel, to be met and assisted by your ITC representative at Ben Gurion Airport Ascent to Jerusalem. At the Tayelet Overlook (Armon Hanatziv), enjoy a breathtaking view of the Old City of Jerusalem; contemplate what Sarah our matriarch experienced as Abraham and Yitzhak stood here. Enter the Old City of Jerusalem and proceed directly to the Kotel; hotel check in and welcome dinner.

Friday, 1 July - Freedom Fighters or Fanatics?
Early departure for the ascent by cable car to Masada. Tour this impressive excavation and discuss the terrible dilemma faced by its Jewish population during Roman times. Spend some time at a Dead Sea resort hotel, enjoying its spa facilities, lunch, and the amazing Dead Sea. Enjoy a walk through the beautiful Ein Gedi Nature Reserve to the waterfall and review the biblical story of Kings David and Saul "on site". Return to Jerusalem to prepare for Shabbat. Kabbalat Shabbat at the Kotel. Shabbat dinner at the Kotel with Rabbi Yossi and Hindel Swerdlow, subject to availability.

Shabbat, 2 July - Shabbat in Jerusalem
Shabbat tefillot at the synagogue of your choice. Shabbat lunch at the hotel. Shabbat rest. Late afternoon Shabbat walking tour in the Old City, with possibility of home hospitality. Reflection session and havdalah with Helana. Free evening in Jerusalem.

Sunday, 3 July - Jerusalem of Old
In the Kotel Tunnels, walk alongside the massive foundation stones of the Western Wall and stand as close as one can today to the Kodesh Hakodeshim. Tour the Southern Wall Excavations and learn more about the ancient Temple at the Davidson Center. Free time for lunch (on one's own) and shopping in the Jewish Quarter. Travel through many centuries as you tour the Jewish Quarter, with a focus on the heroism and sacrifice of Esther Calingold, immigrant to Palestine from England and freedom fighter and nurse during the War of Independence. Free time for dinner (on one's own). Evening: Speaker at the hotel.

Monday, 4 July - In t he Footsteps of Matriarchs and Patriarchs
Stop for prayer and reflection at the tomb of Rachel Immenu. Spend the remainder of the day in Hevron with Batsheva Cohen. Possible activities include: home hospitality; a visit with Sarah and Baruch Nachshon in Kiryat Arba to see his artwork and hear her inspiring story; a visit to the grave of Menucha Rochel and take part in a study session there with Miriam Rhodes. Late afternoon return to Jerusalem. Free evening in Jerusalem (or speaker or coaching workshop).

Tuesday, 5 July - Biblical Heartland
Meet with famous female author in Jerusalem. Learn about the history of the defense of Gush Etzion in a moving multimedia presentation at Kibbutz Kfar Etzion. Visit the Naot Sandal factory in Kibbutz Kfar Etzion and perhaps take home some of this classic Israeli footwear. Enjoy lunch and the gorgeous view at Gavna in Bat Ayin. Explore the beautiful and growing city of Efrat. Return to Jerusalem to walk along Heleni Hamalka Street and hear the story of this extremely pious convert to Judaism. Free time for shopping and dinner (on one's own) in Jerusalem.

Wednesday, 6 July - Establishing a Homeland
Depart Jerusalem for Israel's north. In Atlit walk through the detention camp that held Holocaust refugees denied entry into Eretz Yisrael by the British. See the incredible, newly arrived "illegal immigration" boat with its wonderful a/v presentation about heroic pre-State immigration. Stop at the picturesque Kinneret Cemetery to visit the graves of Rachel the Poetess and Naomi Shemer. Read Rachel's love poetry to our Land and sing Naomi's songs (i.e. Yerushalayim shel Zahav). In Tiberias, visit Dona Gracia House to become acquainted with the fascinating life of this 16th century Jewish heroine and Tiberias' financial leader. Hear dramatic storytelling and an opportunity to pose for photos in gorgeous period clothing. Hotel check in and dinner. Evening: Study session about the female Talmud scholar, Beruriah.

Thursday, 7 July - In the Footsteps of Sages and Defenders
Tour Kibbutz Lavi with one of its members. Travel to the Golan Heights and gaze down over the Galilee as the Syrians once did. Read a poem by an Israeli mother who sacrificed so that we might hold these Heights. Visit with the Haber family at Haspin on the Golan. Enjoy a swim at the women's beach on Lake Kinneret OR glide down the Jordan River in a kayak. Proceed to Tzefat for hotel check in. Free evening to enjoy dinner (on one's own) and Tzefat's artist colony.

Friday, 8 July - In the Footsteps of Mystics
Visit the Ari Shul and the Abuhav Synagogue. At Tzippori tour the amazing excavations of this city that was home to Rabbi Yehuda Hanasi, editor of the Mishna; ponder the identity of the woman depicted in the spectacular "Mona Lisa of the Galilee" mosaic. Visit the tomb of Rabbi Yonatan ben Uziel in Amuka, where Jews come to pray for a myriad of blessings AND/OR stop in Meron for an inspiring visit to the kever of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai. Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat. Shabbat dinner at Ascent.

Shabbat, 9 July - A Tzefat Shabbat
Shabbat tefillot at a Tzefat mystical synagogue. Study session with author Leah Jackson (subject to availabilty). Shabbat lunch at the hotel (possibility of home hospitality). Shabbat rest Havdalah and Melaveh Malka at Ascent.
